="WazzelGenerally a picture of a nice looking reef tank showes that people know what they are doing. In this hobby the proof is the presentation. Do you think we would be better taking advice from somone who have been in the hobby for 4 months and likes to toot thier own horn?
Well, after 4 months, I have the following in my tank:

1 ocelaris percula
1 Kole tang
1 Scooter blenny
1 Royal Gramma
1 Scissortail goby
2 Cleaner shrimps
2 sets of LPS Green and brown Candy canes that are thriving
1 set of LPS Brown Candy Canes that are thriving
1 large patch of green button polyps, also thriving
1 medium patch of unknown purple polyps
1 large patch of green hair like polyps
1 medium leather mushroom
2 large Feather dusters
Lots of coraline and teal algae on my LR
about 10 Giant purple snails and 4 Astraeas snails

I'd say it's not so bad for a guy with only 4 months experience in SW, wouldn't you say? Oh.... and all that under only VHOs and with a crap Coralife Skimmer. Of course, my tank is not as beautiful as Guy's tank, that's for sure. But give me time, I shall be there faster than you might think. Just so you know, I'd pretty much covered all FW tanks possible in a bit over a year and a half. Breeded goldfish and angels and african cichlids. My very first experience with aquariums started in Aug. 2004 with a single goldfish... a year later, I had 7 aquariums in the apt for a total of over 375gal. Developped my own fish food recipe which was a success in enticing breeding. Sold my fish to petshops for $$$ as my fish were top quality. Not just $5 or $10 a piece... I mean $25, $30 a fish. Also developped an incubator tank myself, with no help except for information about nutrition of the fry which I found on the internet.

Since you want pics.. here they are :

If more pics are needed, I'll be happy to supply you with more. Now if that is not enough to establish that I do have some exprience and knowledge, and that I do take this hobby seriously, I wonder what will.

Sponge Bob, I implore you not to be so confrontational.
Len, I'm doing my best here.... It's not as if I was actually enjoying being second guessed, criticised, insulted everytime I post something. I'm not a punching bag, you know. :(

I don't see you being insulted in this thread. You were the one who started being abrasive with your sarcasm ("brilliant idea" ..."get serious DUDE"). Is it really surprising to you that you've rubbed people the wrong way? You seem aware that you aren't looked favorably upon, and there is good reason for this. It has nothing to do with your opinion or information, but rather the way you choose to express them. I humbly suggest you not be so defensive and that you also refrain from excessive sarcasm and personal quips.

Ok... loud and clear. But on the DUDE thing, he called me dude. I'm not a dude or a bro or whatnot. When I talk to people, I use their name. The reason I used DUDE as I did was to implicitly say that I disliked being addressed to in that fashion.

As for the "brilliant idea", I get your point and you are right. There was another way of wording my thoughts more respectfully. My bad.

It was the "get serious" portion that is abrasive. On the issue, here's another suggestion if I may: try not to be so sensitive and understand that people have different lexicons then you do. In most cases, no disrespect is intended.

Now back to the topic.

HAHAHAHA!!!!!!
OMG!!!!!
Hey thanks for the nice words about my tanks fellas.
I apreciate it! Nice to know my work pays off once in a while.
BTW anyone who knows me knows I am WAYYYYYyyyy to anal to let any one else near my tanks. I am the only one who takes care of them. ;)

As for the mouse pads, The adheasive can be stripped using a rag and water or simply by balling it up with your hand.
Neoprene alergies: then use rubber feet on your pump. :) go to HD
and buy some generic rubber feet and super glue them on. OR (and I know this is drastic)..........you could always just use the rubber suction cups your pump came with
Should have mentioned that around 10 posts ago huh?

Yah, but like a third of the population is allegic to neoprene :D Now what you want, and is cheaper, is NITRILE. UV stable, closed cell, 100% hypo-allergenic, cheaper the neoprene plus it has a much higher vibration/sound dampenning quality then neoprene :D
First of, this Sponge_Bob guy was a piece of work, eh? :D

Gresham, what kind of store would I be able to find Nitrile in (locally)?

Or simply to to Home Depot or Lowes. Go to the hardware/cabinetry ailse and purchase some durable plastic door bumpers. They come in several different thinknesses and shapes. Peel off the adhesive backing and stick to the underside of the piece of equipment your trying to dampen.
