I am thinking of buying the Dual 30 inch Current Usa Satellite.

how noisy is the fan?

how good of a light is it?

Hey, is that the one that was Custom Sea Life? If it is, then I might be able to answer that.

The light fixture is well made, but you'll have to remove litte screws with longer ones (which they give you) to mount the legs. If you want a top on the tank, the legs get in the way.

Mine came with a very noisey fan and I think it had been dropped, and the fan was messed up. I got a new one from McMasterCarr and it is sooooo.... quite.

I also have one of those AquaLight fixtures, extremely noisey fan.

What kind of fan did you get from McMaster Carr?

Sorry Knucklehead, I'm slow this week. I just ordered a 3" fan, I'm having tech problems, or I'd give you the link to the one I got.

I had ordered a few 3" fans from Marine depot (I think), what I got are called a "Tube Axial Fan". They are really noisey, when their on, you know it. The one from McMaster Carr is so quite, I had to put my hand over it to see if it was blowing. HTH.

If and when I can get the mcmaster carr cataloug up, I'll send you the link.

I have the 48" long USA fixture 4x 65 watt dual atinics 420nm, 460nm and 6500k and 10,000k. It looks really nice. Not too much heat. I have mostly soft corals under it now that are thriving nicely. I just added a RBTA and it seems pretty happy so far. It's a decent fixture.

Thanks man, I looked through their catalogue today, bought some timers, but the fans were too expensive this week, I will probably get one next week.

I will write down the fan I looked at tomorrow so I can be sure its what you are talking about, they have several

Ok, I finally got in but can't link the page.
So here's the info.
Item # 1976K91 115 VAC $21.79
3 1/4 " square fan x 1" thick
mounting holes are 2.81" center to center
2 x 12" leads

This fan was a perfect fit for my custom SeaLife 2X65w pc fixture, even got to use the sane screws.
HTH
