I have one over my 29 and I like it. I can hear the fan whir. I would buy another if I needed one.

I'm looking at them now, too, Bry...for my 20H. Is the fan noise obnoxious, Andy? I'm looking at either a 1x65w (which doesn't come with a fan) or a 2x40w.

Chrispy, mine will probably be here around Thursday, I should get the tracking info today.

Its a 20 high, why don't you go with a 400 watt Metal halide and really light the sucka up?

I've got a 30" Lunar Aqualight over a 29gal. Fan is quite silent on that one. (but get the adjustable mounting legs, the regular ones are really cheap and brittle FYI...) I've heard good things about the Orbit 30" dual PC as well. They sell those at my local LFS (in Canada), but they were charging about $80 more than the Aqualight at JLaquatics.com.

The fan is not that loud. You can hear it but it is on par with others.

Chris I would get the double bulb you get 15 more w and can split the light between white and actinic. DSL cut out last night :?

Hey, is that the one that was Custom Sea Life? If it is, then I might be able to answer that.

The light fixture is well made, but you'll have to remove litte screws with longer ones (which they give you) to mount the legs. If you want a top on the tank, the legs get in the way.

Mine came with a very noisey fan and I think it had been dropped, and the fan was messed up. I got a new one from McMasterCarr and it is sooooo.... quite.

I also have one of those AquaLight fixtures, extremely noisey fan.

LFS where I buy uses the satellites on a few of their tanks. He's just now trying them and is impressed with their light. That's all I know about them, but the owner is enjoying his so far and I liked their looks in his store. Can't say about the noise...lfs is noisy anyway...lol

What kind of fan did you get from McMaster Carr?

Btw, the Dual 24" Satellite looks very nice, imo. Me likey!

I like it too

Its nice and bright, plus I like the fact that I can control each thing independently of the others. I am going to set it up with a nice dusk to dawn thingy as soon as I get ahold of some more timers...
