Righty, nice job on the videos as always. I linked them on another site, I hope you don't mind.

I didn't realize that you were a moderator over at Grimreefers as well, Rich...lol...

Pretty funny eh? I would have made all the same arguments even if I weren't!

I believe you!......Actually, every time I read you arguing, or debating or whatever, I'm reminded of Monty Python's Life of Brian, where Eric Idle is arguing for the right to have a baby, and to be called Lorretta, even though he's a man!

Hey Chock... - How do you explain the arrow crab vs. mantis video then?

Don't put your tail between your legs and say you don't get a kick out of it. - The sick bast**d in me does too!

Difference is, I wouldn't intentionally set it up..

I got a better idea... - Show us some video of "battles" between mantis or pistols and their owners... - You know, fleshy fingers vs. crusty claws.

ever watch 'mutual of omaha's wild kingdom' ?

Exactly how do you think they got the name thumb-splitters anyway?

i had no problem w/the video, and the 'soundtrack' was just discounted as fairly typical of what i always hear from young'uns at lfs's and zoos

it didn't affect my interest or curiosity about how the mantis kills. the methods nature uses can be amazingly fascinating to many people (though it's fairly obvious the motive here wasn't that 'pure' )

heh, homicide can be fascinating to many people-you can go to a university and get degrees in the subject

Not since I was about 6 or 7 and was starting to get the idea in the back of my head that something wasn't quite right with that show.. - Wasn't it partly funded by an oil company or something like that?

To a deeper extent the core of what first bothered me about it is exactly that. It wasn't totally "pure".. - Coupled with the fact that if it had been in the wild, the crab would have gotten away several times over.

Eh, its all water under the bridge for me though.. - The crying tree-hugger within me has been gagged, bound and soundly beaten.

Bring on the next video! :P
