If you add in the fact that you have to catch the fish out of a giant tank, I guess I would agree that they are more stressful than they are worth. We have the luxury of having an african cichlid system that we maintain at a ph of 8.3 and smaller stock tanks which makes moving fish back and forth very easy.

Terry B, I am interested to hear more about how freshwater dips don't help. The only thing I can think of is that the fish become unstressed long enuff to fight off the parasites themselves, our dipping of them notwithstanding.

Simply telling me that dips don't work doesn't give me an understanding of what is actually going on when I dip a fish and it recovers. If the dip isn't helping, what is?
