Reverse the bathroom door swing! It would be a little strange, but could work. then you dont need to remodel the entire layout, just put hinges on the opposite side and give enough room for the door to swing shut. BTW, with that many windows in that area, I would be concerned about a serious algal bloom problem.

Wouldn't it be cool if you could move the tank back into th wall behind it so you could see it fom the wierd room and the office.

(then once you have the hole in the wall you could use your "office" for something usefull like a covert fish room, just think of it, brine hatchery, phytoplanktonic cultivation tubes, R/O reservoir, Saltwater mixing reservoir, a refugeum so large it rivals Danmhippo's pond and a water testing station/sink all of your own. Then again you could allways keep it as an office  )

From what I understand the 3000 wil do 30gpm at 11' of head. If I have 7 actual feet of head and 4 more feet of lateral head (dolphin website says add 1 foot of head for every 10 feet of lateal pipe), that would give me 11' of head and 30gpm. If I have a 150 gallon tank and I want the water to turn over 10x and hour that is 1500 gph, and the 3000 at 11' head gives me 1600 gph (30x60min). What am I missing? Am I high?

-You are correct Righty! Please disregard my above comment  .

Hey you guys!

It looks as if I am going to move the bathroom door to the other wall of the bathroom and put the back of the tank against the wall in the living room where the old door was. But, get this, I am going to leave the door in place, it will be hidden by the tank and canopy, so I can access the back of the tank through the bathroom (the door swings into the bathroom). Pretty neat.

Now all I have to do is install the new door, move the electrical for the tank, and reinforce the floor under the thank and I am in business.
