Some forums are only available on the web and seem to be missing from tapatalk. Identification for example.

Browsing the browser on my iPhone has no alerts for a PM. I have to open up conversations to see if I have messages

First pic is another reef site. MR has no alert features

You are getting alerts for a conversation reply as well as other events, like a new reply in a watched thread, a user following you etc. The number of unread alerts/conversations was highlighted on our desktop theme but was missing in mobile navigation. We have added the feature now, and you can see the total number of unread items on a mobile device as well:

The menu gives you access to your alerts and conversations and shows the number unread items for each of them.
