Fish Town refuses to bring tank in house.HELP

Yep, just as the title says. FishTown USA refuses to bring tank into my house. I paid for delivery, initially I told the salesperson that they could leave the tank on the porch. But after speaking with Slamajam I learned that the silicone on the tank would seperate in the cold weather.
I spoke to George the manager, I explained the situation with the weather, silicone, and that my entry is a little tricky and they might have to bring the tank in through my window. George said nothing about extra charges. Owner's daughter just called me and told me that George denies the conversation, and that $100 delivery charge is for drop off only.

The tank is a 155gl.Bow Front 72 1/2" X 18" X 24" the center which I will call the belly is 24".

Can anyone help me by picking up, and bringing into the house? Obviously a single person cannot do this.

when i got my 155gbow we needed four guys to bring it in and up two flights of stairs.

i really doubt that leaving the tank outside for a while(until a couple of us get there) will do any harm.

awilda why wouldn't a 24" tank fit in the door?

I think a delivery charge should include bringing the tank into the house.

I Bought My 90 Gallon From Them...did Not Like The Service And They Tried To Get Over On Me For $50.00 And I Caught Them...would Never Go Back There Again! Cancel The Order!

I live in Bayside and used to go there -- there service SUCKS! I had 2 hard times there -- I've finally stopped going ( I would not go back if they were givin stuff away!!!).

Can the tank stay out in the cold. I can have them drop it off on my porch where the elements can not get to it. but I can not protect it from the cold.

like Jon said for an afternoon in the cold it would be okay, the temps now are borderline.in the mid 30's I think would be okay, I would be worried in anything less. another thought is the cold might not be that bad, these tanks get shipped around the world in containers I'm sure. on the deck of a ship, or the back of a truck they are exposed to all kinds of temperatures. still I would feel safer if it could get into your house asap.

I just read the part where the manager denied having a conversation. If I were you, I'd cancel it altogther. Maybe Ronen can order one for you, not sure if he can but.......

In any case, wherever you get it from, I'll help you get it and put into your place.

woohoo!!:tank: is coming into the house. I called FT, spoke to George. I told him how poff I was that I could have just bought my tank from Petland Discounts paid $25 delivery charge for a drop off. But that instead I went to them because I have been dealing with them for so long. George apparently had no knowledge of what Kathy had said to me. He put me on hold, came back and told me the tank will be IN my house within the next 2 hours.:biggrin:

live rock

Bought my live rock there, it was really dead rock. The person who saw i know nothing about (at the time I was buying it) was really having a good time laughing at me in my face and giveing me WRONG info. They Do have ok prices for lfs, but other wise I would never want to go there again. There is an ok store on 86th and bay 16 th in bk, I usually go there couse they have ok prices, but the water condition some time look like need alot of tunning.

I had a few problems with a lady in their, not sure of her name. Long story short. I wanted to order a glass top for my Oceanic 58G, she tells me Oceanic does not make it anymore. I told her that makes no sense, they still make the tank, why would they stop making the glass top? She tells me she does not know why.
After talking to her for about ten minutes, another worker comes over, hears our conversation and says Oceanic DOES still make the glass top. So I order it.
They call me and tell me it's in. I go to get it, a different lady goes to look for it in the back. She comes up front again and says it's not in:letitallo . The originally lady comes to me and AGAIN tells me Oceanic does not make it anymore:headache: . I rolled my eyes, looked at one of the guy workers, he looks in the back and comes out with my glass top. I picked up the glass top, stuck it in this ladies face and YELLED, IF OCEANIC DOES NOT MAKE IT ANYMORE, HOW AM I HOLDING IT IN MY HANDS!!!!! Thanks for all the bullsh*t!!!
