I hate to say it but I helped start their saltwater tanks in the late sixtees. I hardly ever go there myself anymore.
Paul

have they done a water change since then?

I'm sorry I could not help it :biglaugh:

Paul it sounds like they could use your help again :)

Thank you all for your support. It's nice to have you here.:grouphug:
gee Paul, I wonder why?:wink1: OK NRA, short, chubby long dark hair with a lot of attitude is Kathy(the owner's daughter), not thin but thinner, a little taller, hair a little lighter is the salesperson ( I don't know her name).

Selling the wrong thing seems to happen every where you go. Gotta do your homework, or have really good friends that are willing to answer your questions.
jHale, I sure don't, and Kathy of all people knows it(especially since she has been through something similar). They (Mike, George & Kathy) know what I have been going through. We use to talk like friends, not just as customer type of thing.
I don't know what happened, but they just had 3 guys quit on them this week. Mike, who was there for 5yrs. Pernell, and another one can't remember his name.

yeah i called once to get some discus and she tells me, "oh yeah! we have tons of them in the store". i make my friend drive me out there for an hour and when i get there, two tiny crappy discus. i was so pissed.

i found some better stores in brooklyn that had cheaper prices and better selection.

i only go there if i'm in the area. i hardly ever leave w/ anything anymore.

Okay, then it was definitely Kathy who gave me wrong info..

LMAO,yeah that's what I thought. When she first came to the store it was all I could do to keep from hurting that child.:fight2:

Tank is in the house!!!!!:inlove:
But someone sold one of my buckets of sand, so they owe me one bucket of sand. :irked: And they are out of esv sand, and won't have any until next week sometime. What other sand would you guys mix with the esv fine sand?
By the way, they told me I have to rinse the sand really well because it is really dirty sand. Do I have to rinse with ro water?please say not necessary please....:irked:
Oh yeah, should have seen the two kids they sent to bring that 300lb. tank up and into my house. My house sit 4' above ground level, and George knew this. One of those kids didn't weigh more then 130 soaking wet. Sad very sad.

Glad to hear it all worked out! I've dealt with situations like that before (not at Fish Town) and it feels like a plot to drive you crazy. At least the skinny kid was able to help get it into the house. Better his back than yours:smile:. Well, at least the tank wasn't sold to someone else instead of the sand!! I've never been to that store, and it sure doesn't sound like it's worth the trip.
Enjoy your new tank.

try telling the truth

Yep, just as the title says. FishTown USA refuses to bring tank into my house. I paid for delivery, initially I told the salesperson that they could leave the tank on the porch. But after speaking with Slamajam I learned that the silicone on the tank would seperate in the cold weather.
I spoke to George the manager, I explained the situation with the weather, silicone, and that my entry is a little tricky and they might have to bring the tank in through my window. George said nothing about extra charges. Owner's daughter just called me and told me that George denies the conversation, and that $100 delivery charge is for drop off only.

The tank is a 155gl.Bow Front 72 1/2" X 18" X 24" the center which I will call the belly is 24".

Can anyone help me by picking up, and bringing into the house? Obviously a single person cannot do this.
I'm in Far Rockaway

hold up.......... are you kidding me... 1st off we do not speak to people like there pieces of $hit especially on this reef site and we do not use profanity on the threads here. if you have a problem with that go somewhere else... look who is the real animal..... awi was stating a problem that she had... she is unable to move the tank into her house by herself... it would of been a nice gesture if that store would of helped her out but they chose not to.... that doesnt show much for a store and there customers does it .... my advice to u is to refrain from posting any longer... if it helps the reef community then go ahead, otherwise go away....

catfish this is a warning i would def. refrain from going any further with this....
