Thanks Jon, but awards aren't necessary, just your (collective) continued support.

Oh and if anyone is wondering why so many kids are wearing strange hats --- It was also "Pay a dollar and wear a silly hat to school day" as a fund raiser for the 5th grade field trip :)

Randy, those kids truly look like they are enjoying the project. Brett, Lissa & Tony, I wish I could have been there. My thanks go out to you as well for your support of such a wonderful learning experience for these lucky kids. I'm sure you enjoyed it as much as they did.

It would be interesting to find out in 5, 10, 15 years if any of these little people ever start up a reef or FO tank. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if your guidance has impacted them enough to do so.

Please let us know when you're ready for fish. We're looking forward to contributing also.

Brett was really pushing that they all will turn into reefers in the future in his speeches =0)

The kids looked more interested and involved than i've seen kids when they have interacted with anything else that i've seen, but probably because most of these kids never seen coral before. I think this will be a interesting project for them and they will double their interest at a minimum once they have more livestock and get more into the husbandry of it. They will grow attached to it and i think this will teach them alot more than just about marine biology and what the project specifics call for. There is a big difference between gettig the kids to grow a small bean plant to learn ecology and setting up a small greenhouse garden with dependancies.

Wow, that is amazing!!! That is EXACTLY what I want to do at my school!!
So, you funded the whole project yourself?
Thank you so much for notifying me of your project. Right now I'm in the 'let's get stuff' phase. Putting my own reef together so that eventually I'll have everything they need.

Btw, I'm in Newark, NJ. It would be great to get a chance to visit the school some day, even if it's after school or something. I'll check out NY PS calendar.

Thanks!
