I'm in it to win it! Being na?ve thinking that there is such a thing as "instant ocean" when searching for a desktop fish tank for some goldfish I won at a carnival...all I can say now is "if I didn't spend the money is this hobby, it would of been spent in another hobby."

I'm in it to win it !! I was exposed to the hobby from my friend, he kept killing Blue Tangs (Paracanthurus hepatus) and gorgonians. I would read up everyday on this two to teach my self how to care for them, I stopped him from killing the animals and got him to learn how to keep them. Since then I have started multiple nano tanks with much success, traded/ traded for aquacultured frags and grew them out.
The hobby to me is all about using knowledge to better care for these animals and propagate the ones we can from fish to corals so which not to disturb the balance of nature as well as stealing beauty from future generations that wish to see these amazing creatures in the wild.
I strive to make my next build filled only with aqua cultured corals FOR OBVIOUS REASONS LOL.

"I'm in it to win it". I started my first salt water tank in 1982 (I was just a kid) after visiting Sea World in CA. I saw an outdoor, shallow, tidal exhibit. Kids could reach in and touch the starfish...that was it. I was hooked!

Since I was a kid I had a thing for anything that had to do with water!!!!!
My fist tank was a small bowl with gold fish, then tropical fresh water, on and off I always had a fish a tank. It?s been now about 3 years that I?m in to SW and I love it!!! I love the challenge/fact that I can keep a complex ecosystem, but at the end of the day the ecosystems that we keep don?t even come close to as small piece of the ocean, it?s just fascinating thinking about that, my kids love it, & the wife is getting to love it. And it?s a type of therapy for me as well.
This forum is grate without MR I would not have the tank I have today!!!!

I just love researching for anything that interest me and fortunately saltwater did a few years ago. Now i love the challenging on knowing i got living creatures to care for. Also love the look on my 5yo daughter when she looks at the tank and the effort she makes to help me do the water changes.
