Why paint it... Get a 'film' from LFS that is blue on 1 side/black on the other, so you can judge which you like better, and it can be removed easily.
If you must paint... BLUE is the best choice... If anyone says anything different, please report them to me !

i guess I'm gonna have to report myself cause I'm going with black but since were on the topic of colors for tanks my next question is for my substrate my choices are FIJI PINK or HAWAIIAN BLACK and I'm not doing a deep sand bed this time around maybe about a 1/4 inch just to cover the bottom

Run it separate with water and vinegar solution for a while. Do it a few times till it runs clean.

or fill it with 50/50 water and bleach, let it sit for 20 min then flush with water.
i find that bleach removes that crud better than vinegar, although vinegar is less corrosive.

Okay guys here is where I need some help I want to make a mixing/refil bucket for my system so basically I want to design something to mix the salt in a bucket and then when ready to do a water change be able to run that water to the tank via my manifold thanks for any advice I've seen some setups with two buckets but I only need one because my RO/DI unit is in the basement so it's mainly gonna be just to mix the salt in the bucket and the. Hold it there until the water changes thanks again

Look at this site plasticmart.com

I bought a 40 gallon container from them, hooked up a valve at the bottom to a pump then to a fitting for a hose that I ca screw on and off . When I want to pump water to my tank, I open the valve, turn the pump on, and send the water to my tank.
They have all different sizes and shapes. I keep a small pump inside the container to keep the water swirling and to mix the salt along with a heater to keep it at 78 degrees. I also bought a 20 gallon to hold RO water. My RO unit is hooked up to both with float valves in side the containers too.
