Few beers my next best friend I just get right and sit back and take a long at my tank and that's all the test I need I have few maker corals soft& hard and when they look dropy I know what time it is

I think you need to take Duromega up on the offer to do a water change on your computer :flower:

After a number of years, you can just look at your tank and know if there is an issue. Only then do I break out test kits.

Just keep it stable, know that I need 2 scoops of salt per 5g WC bucket to be around 1.025, dose 2 part and mag every so often, feed. It seems like nothing now.

Freshwater "maintenance" is even more laughably easy now. I could probably have a thriving fw tank with what I consider minimal to nonexistant maintenance.

I now do water changes maybe once a month, test for alkalinity every few weeks, test calcium every few months. Everything is doing fine. I learned my lesson after I messed up my tank because of a faulty test kit that gave me the wrong readings...no...it was a calcium kit. At any rate, the less effort I put into my tank, the better it seems to be.

That's what my problem was too !!! I over analyzed everything and before you knew it , things begin to close up and die and it's cause of faulty tests or over dosing the tank with one thing or the other , I have seen great tanks that are based on minimal efforts !
