Any snowflake eel owners on here? If so can I get some information about this eel. Are they good around corals and smaller fish and inverts like clownfish blennies and shrimps and other smaller fish? Which I know there not fully reef safe eels but how do they do in your reef tank. Any aggravation towards other fish in the same tank?

Depending on the size of your snowflake ,they will eat small slender fish, inverts its 50/50..
Also when they max out in size they may be able to topple or break coral if they bump into them,I have one not in a reef but he is almost 30 inches and thick ,eats anything that fits in his mouth but will not touch inverts..
If you want an eel for your reef best bet would be the dwarf moray eels ..

I had one many many years ago, first time through the hobby, ds thing always jumped out of tank. I had it in a 55 fowlr, no Shrimp or inverts. I didn't have it with smaller fish either as I fed it silversides mostly and figured they were decent size so anything close would be a snack

Well I'm thinking of getting a baby size one idk less then 7 inches or anything that's considered small. But in general will eels attack there owners while he's moving frags around the tank or cleaning the tank? Btw how big do the dwarf eel gets? The question I ask is because I would HATE to see one of my clownfish or any other fish get eating up by the dwarf eel.

The golden dwarfs max out around the 12-14 inch mark ,and you shouldn't have any issues with your clowns or small fish unless the fish is real small I'd say smaller than your pinky ..

Nailed it Kres my clownfish are the size of my pinky right now and the other one ones too lol. Btw are these eel hard to keep and find or order from a vendor or lfs?

The golden dwarf are pretty hardy, have one in my reef never bothered inverts or smaller fish, but silversides and squid tenticles he does go after..
It's not as common as a snowflake but pretty sure some vendors on here are able to special order them, but they run around $150-$200

Thanks Kres for answering all my questions buddy. Might pick up one or ask a vendor on here to order me one when the time is ready. Once again thanks a lot Kres.

There's actually 4 there if you look closely in the back left there's a zebra eel also
And they are in a 400 all get along fine

And that snowflake is almost 30 in and as thick as your wrist, the biggest I've ever seen one

A REEF safe eel is a skeletor eel. I have one and he is totally reef safe. They are nocturnal so they hide all day, but swim about at night. A pic of him is in my avatar. They max out at 2 ft and mine never even tries to escape. Check them out...

Thanks but I would like an eel that I can see in the day time after work. But as your eel attacked you while cleaning your tank or feeding it?
