Who owns an Elos tank? I owned a Mini for a while and although small, it was an excellent quality tank.

We're (hopefully) closing on our house in June, and I want to start planning my dream tank. I'm considering an Elos System 70 or 100.

Here's a link for the Elos tank specs:

Anyway.. Post up if you have an Elos tank!!

I have a 120xl elos full system with stand. I also have the elight 3L for the system. Everything about this tank and equipment is great. The one critique I have is that the lights are not comparable with the Neptune controller. Other then that everything is great.

I think they are the best systems. As long as you can afford them. I do use their top off system it is great. Also I have an elos light. Great company. FYI they have a showroom in short hills NJ

I do believe they are some really nice tanks. If you have the room, go for the 120xl. If your going to have a gorgeous tank. Might as well have the extra room to really have alot to work with. But regardless which way you go. All their tanks look great. I not crazy about their I only warranty the tank if you by our stand as well. That forces you to buy their stand which I'm honestly not that crazy about because it has no floor to it so your sump and equipment sit on the floor unless you put something underneath it.

I hear ya man. I wish there was enough room (in the house and my budget, lol) for a 120xl or even a 160xl, but those tanks are significantly more expensive. Not only the tank itself, but the lighting, skimmer, etc all would cost much more. I'm thinking about delaying the purchase until the basement is finished so I could fit an Elos 120 or 120xl but that's going to be a few years off.

Regarding the warranty.. yup. That sucks. But most tank manufacturers have the same policy. I don't really like the Elos stands either. They look great but they're not as sturdy as they could (and should) be. Especially for the money.

You know you could always go with Reefoman and Martin and save some money. You could always come see my setup if you like to get an idea.
Food for thought
