Is it me or the nudibranch posted in reefs looks fake. I'm no expert in nudibranches but that can't be real. Can any nudibranch expert confirm?

Nudibranchs are UNBELIEVABLY specific feeders. Each one typically feeds on something unique that most marine biologists haven't even identified to date.

at first it looked like something from a movie, i thought it was some kind of prank. they do look amazing though. i think my first expression was based on its apendages and the black spot it has on the front looking like a cyclops.

1+ just wandering what an animal who is so small would eat. i also agree the pics are amazing

As Russ explained, we don't know what most of them eat - which is why they die if you try and put them in a reef tank. It is thought the different types eat different things. There is still so much we don't understand about the creatures in the oceans!
