"Tanked" a new discovery channel TV show about saltwater fish tanks

They are not represented the aquarium store business, they are representing a business that does over the top work at over the top locations.

If someone bases their thoughts on the hobby on a 30 minute show about a a reality tv show about LAS VEGAS company they are not that wise. You shouldnt judge a book by its cover.

If you do better work and feel you want to represent this industry then approach a channel about a show. But to say that ATM is a representation of the hobby is not fair to them.

Maybe in a perfect world people would understand that. I'm not going to argue with you, you clearly know more about them than I do.

I wouldn't compromise the level of my work by having to become a ratings whore.

It's all about the money..no one does anything for free lol Actors don't act for free why shouldn't they get paid? They make the sickest tanks out there I think they deserve it. How many shows is there about fish tanks? I think it's awesome that we can see on tv how they do what they do.

Let me elaborate for those that dont seem to understand this. I understand the concept of making money but the vibe I get from this show is a company that caters to idiots who view fish tanks as a piece of furniture and nothing more. If they cater to that garbage then i am sure they have no regard for the life in them either. I really hope I am proven wrong but I doubt it.

LFS i actually dont know much about them, but i just found it wierd that people who commented on them were all vendors doing the same type of business.

The jersey shore is the same thing, if you base your assesment of people from jersey on that show your being close minded.

I don't know if anyone realizes, but people like idiots with drama and stupidity. Say what you want about them, but they are the ones with the show, and they are the ones getting paid the big bucks. It's ok to be cocky or idiotic, look at any reality tv show or any todays popular hit shows on discovery. Look at myth busters, your telling me they are not tools just reading off a TelePrompter? Or jersey shore... Are you serious? They all have serious issues... But People eat that s### up! They love it! That's what sells. Fact of the matter is they are there for what they are known for, and discovery thought a show could be made out of it. So, discovery can make money. Heck, I think all my friends could make a great show as well with how dumb we are... But then again there already is a jackass tv show... Another great example. Mind freak? Really? A guy that can levitate? Multi million dollar show.

I think it's going to be a hit, either some people look at it that way or not. Most people in the world don't know them. They are going to turn the sho on and be like oh wowwwwww look at thattttttt. Not say... Ohh those guys? Yeah I know their personal work, it sucks. I'm not watching it.

And, even though some people feel that way, I'm sure your all still going to watch it just to see. Either to poke fun at it or enjoy the season...

This show was produced along with Darian of Aquarium Design Network on Long Island. Funny cuz we had put together a whole concept idea called "Get Tanked" which we pitched around for a few years. Never got off the ground. Good to see Darian get it going!

Honestly I wanted to watch the whole season but from the cockyness the owner presents himself on the reefbuilders thread I don't even want to consider watching it just so I don't contribute to their success. Honestly, how can you say "we build the best aquarium setups in the world" that seems like a bit much to state. And who takes a fish out of the water and finds it funny?

Unless you watch all other shows like this, you won't like it...

It's just like pawn stars, American pickers, sand castle builders, American restoration, hardcore pawn, shows like that. That style or seriousness and comedy...
