IME male flame wrasses are the wimpiest of all flame wrasses and as you say far more delicate than the females. BUT, while you might get a female to change into a nice male, you'll never get a supermale :(
in time you will... there have been some people that have accomplished this... :) mine took about 4 months until one finally decided to become male... hopefully, about 6-8 months until SuperMale... :)

Nice!!! I think you can get away with 6-8 females... :) :) :)

okay... here's Video # 1... please excuse the tank condition with the algae and all but the tank will be under construction this week... new sump to accommodate the CS-200 skimmer better, new scape to incorporate the pillars from gooch, etc... I'm also taking out the two McKosker's I've had since Aug of last year and giving the Hooded a 3-5 days time out to let the Attenuatus get acquainted with his new home... both of the McKosker's and the Hooded are giving the Attenuatus a hard time acclimating but he's eating every feeding time... he's only out when the PowerBrites are on... since I got the Attenuatus, I've only had one complete photoperiod day... but it's gonna change soon... ;)

Have you ever tried your hand at any of the challenging Anampses species? I have had long-term success ( several years) with a Yellow tail Tamarin, but absolutely none with the Red tails.
not really... I hear they are harder to get to eat so I don't even mess with them... LoLz... there's so many wrasses out there to have but not enough tank space... when I'm done with my fishes, I should have around 12... mostly F&F wrasses with the Yellow Tang (just coz) & a pair of nice clowns (either SnowCassos or SnowFlakes)... :)

how long before you added the other species ? see you have a god size tank which helps, did ya add them when the lights were out ? ive had 1 or 20 different species and never really had issues with agression other then from a vanue pylie and tried that one a few times and a clown fairy and blue side became agressive down the road, for now will stick with my pair of flames and hope to get 2 more females

Pratt I have a yellow tail tamrin currently eating mysis and nibbling pellets it is not a costly fish but an absolutely stunning one this is my3rd attempt and it didn't eat anything except pods for months! The day I saw it eat mysis I felt like a kid a Xmas !! Great feeling when a fish eats for first time !
MikeNy has had sucess with a few types of tamrin
I bought a red tail that eat mysis at the store but died in a day won't try them again!
It shares the tank with
2 males flames started as 1 male 1 female
1 naoki fairy ( this fish is dominant always doing these crazy displays wish I could get it on video)
1 red tail flasher
1 chisel tooth ( this fish eats all other fish poop and seems to enjoy it)
I'm getting a diamond tail next week so wanna try and catch the naoki and put diamond tail in reintroduce naoki few days- week later
