Which if any do you think would be a good addition. Or is 2 already to many? Also was thinking of adding another wrasse alreadyh have a 6 line.

I would hold off on any tangs. The six line also will harass any other wrasse you add. They are mean burgers.

IMO, you have a nice size tank, you should put whatever fish you enjoy the most, "no one" in this world can gurantee you that any fish is peaceful or aggressive, everyfish has its own personallity, I'm sure everyone here seen nasty clownfish, or peaceful triggers. Is difficult to determine which is what. By removing a fish from the ocean and judge what size tank this fish should be in is unrealistic also, and to determine if it will grow to its potential size, once you tank a fish out from the ocean it'll NEVER reach its potential size. If you just spend a little more time on your tank/tanks daily, anything can be done, luck is another factor.

One of the moderator told me to play cool, but thats just rude, "horrible advice", it clearly stated IMO, let me respond to yours.

Naso is too big for 150 and Achilles will probably fight with the PBT.

what are you? psychic?

I believe his question was "what do you think", which was followed by a few personal opinions, which since they are personal opinions are probably based on that individuals experience. so i don't understand how any advice would be horrible. any advice, is just that, personal advice.
If keeping a few Tangs that will grow 12"-18" in a 150 gallon tank is wrong, whats the difference in keeping two whale sharks or belugas or any such animal in a public aquarium. My personal experience was four tangs in a 120 gallon and all did very well until the day I gave them away while upgrading. On another note i know someone that was not that lucky and had fights all the time. Hopefully with our informed opinions he will make an informed decision.

it's horrible advice. Telling someone to add "whatever fish you like" because "Fish never grow to their potential in captivity" is simply false and cruel to the animal.

It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy, a fish will never grow to it's full size in captivity if it is in an inappropriately small tank. If someone's opinion is in my opinion, horrible advice and cruelty to animals, i will not hesitate to voice it.

Regarding whale sharks, there are only 2 aquariums in the world large enough to house the whale shark. You won't see one at Coney Island simply because it is a "cool fish". How many years did you keep 4 tangs in your 120 gallon. If your answer is anything less than SEVERAL years you are not a success story.

This is not to cause an argument or a battle of the wits, as it seems that you have gotten offended. As stated before it was their opinion, and as such he can take it or leave it. My success story lasted for 9 years before i decided to upgrade to a larger tank, And those four fish are still healthy and happy in their new home.Is that successful enough? I have been keeping saltwater fish for about 34 years and reefing for 14 of those years. The one thing i've found in this hobby is that what works for me might not work for you and vice versa. By the way, no I don't consider my self an expert in any sense of the word, just someone that is still learning and always willing to accept some "advice".

BTW i've been to both aquariums, and if you feel that they are big enough for the whale sharks, then ratio wise isn't that the same as a tang in lets say a 300 gallon tank, give or take a gallon?

I have 4 tangs in my 150.

It's a 150 long (5'), so, there is plenty of room to run around. An oceanic 150 high (or any other tank alike) might not be a good choice for this many tangs.

My Tomimi and Scopas are 5" each and are boarders from another MR member. The other Tomimi and Dejardini Salifin are about 3.5"

All are exceptionally happy and healthy (read fat here).

As for your choices - I would differ from the IMO users and say that even if it is in your opinion, it may not be in the best interest of the animals you have added or the ones you want to add in the future.

All tangs can get very nasty with some getting more aggressive and passive than another. FOR SURE, you should try and avoid putting the same tang type and vary their body shapes and sizes so that they have a better chance of getting along - even the same body type in pair will fight for territory in that sized tank.

That being said, the Powder Blue and Gold Rim are lolliopop tangs and not well suited for same tank living in a tank that size. Same with the Achilles.

I am attaching a picture of my old 180 where I had 5 tangs. You can see the 4 here in this picture. The red Sea Sailfin (dejardini) was 6" and still alive in the Pratt Institute 240g display. He is 8 years in our collective captivity.

i smell beef :chefico: :D

"IMO" i'd go with 1 or 2 max, as far as how the fish will react to one another, more than probably there will be aggression to newly added fish since territorial boundaries have been set in your tank. there's always risk.

Thanks for everyones input. I see it got a little feisty.lol I still have to decide what fish to add. Maybe a Purple Tang since they are not the same shape of the powder blue or convict? And since someone suggested no more wrasses with the 6 line. What other nice fish can I add? Any one have any suggestion? By the way my tank is 6 ft long.

how about adding an anthias? they have gorgeous colors except i would stay away from the sunbursts. cute as hell but very difficult fish to keep, in MY opinion and personal experience. we had ours for months eating like a pig then all of a sudden it decided it had had enough and died :(
