Thanks for everyones input. I see it got a little feisty.lol I still have to decide what fish to add. Maybe a Purple Tang since they are not the same shape of the powder blue or convict? And since someone suggested no more wrasses with the 6 line. What other nice fish can I add? Any one have any suggestion? By the way my tank is 6 ft long.

the more hiding spots you have the better, just remeber to qt your fish, you'll get a much higher success rate that way, personally I love anthias too, tangs are cool, but some catch ick too quick. One last thing, get your opinions here, but for more accurate information, I'd buy a few books and read, it appears "most" people here are determined to have an opinion on the 1-2 fish they have at home, Everything that I've been posting here on MR was thorugh my personal experience through what I've read, and from my previous employment managing a fish wholesaler for the last 10 years. This hobby in tremedous, there are still living things that havn't been discover, and every year more and more are being found. 40 years ago, not too many people had marine aquarium as a hobby, beacause the technology was not advance enough to keep them, if we all play by the rules and set bundary, there wouldn't be an Manhattan reef, or these marine hobbiest. Once again, read your books, if there compatable, you like it, try it, DO NOT SET A LIMIT, there are NO limits, if cruelty to animals is your concern, than I really think everyone here should get out of the hobby. By catching a fish with cyanide, catching them when they cant breathe, putting a fish in a tiny bag with minimal water + air, shipping it across the globe in extreme weather, thats not cruelty? everything here is still IMO.

IMO we take fish from the OCEAN!!!! yeah the OCEAN and think is right by putting them in a 150 0r a 220. The fish may adapt but it doesnt guarateed the fish happines. So in my opinion we are alll CRUEL BASTARDS.....Thank u very much. Ican be the one of the next speaker at the spring frag swap..lol...

In my 180 i have 2 hippos-- 1 atlantic blue--- 1 sohal---1 sailfin-- 1 scopas--1 yellow and had a black tang till it died for no reason :( All live happily together and i love when people tell you it cant be done LOL Expect aggression with any new tang added but it subsides after a few days. My advice is if your gonna add a tang or 3 to your tank but them all at once and add them together. :)

In a 150 I've had the following tangs, yellow, purple, desjardini sailfin, black, orange shoulder, achilles, and powder blue with great success. When I added a new tang, I kept the lights off for 2 days, which usually kept the fish calm and when I turned on the light they rarely fought.

Consider a desjardini, they are gorgeous tangs.

Thanks XVINNYX!! He gave me a great Purple Tang!! Lets see how it goes. He is huge so dont think the other fish in the tank will mess with him. Ill keep you posted.
Everyone will have different results with fish because every fish and fishtank is different.A fish will live in peace and harmony in your fish community and create havoc in mine.Read past posts you will see for your self the horror stories about tangs etc.

IMO, you have a nice size tank, you should put whatever fish you enjoy the most, "no one" in this world can gurantee you that any fish is peaceful or aggressive, everyfish has its own personallity, I'm sure everyone here seen nasty clownfish, or peaceful triggers. Is difficult to determine which is what. By removing a fish from the ocean and judge what size tank this fish should be in is unrealistic also, and to determine if it will grow to its potential size, once you tank a fish out from the ocean it'll NEVER reach its potential size. If you just spend a little more time on your tank/tanks daily, anything can be done, luck is another factor.

My advice is if your gonna add a tang or 3 to your tank but them all at once and add them together. :)

The one thing i've found in this hobby is that what works for me might not work for you and vice versa. By the way, no I don't consider my self an expert in any sense of the word, just someone that is still learning and always willing to accept some "advice".

I actually think those are pretty good pieces of advice. I personally have 2 tangs in a 75G, a Sailfin and a Yellow Tang and they're like buddies they swim side by side most of the day. I'm soon updrading to a 210 and I'm sure they'll be happier in that but that doesn't mean they're unhappy now, honestly they never will be happy when you think about it because nothing will ever compare to the size of the ocean.

Also here's a link to a video I have in my favorites that has whale sharks in it :P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7deClndzQw

And lastly, Wes you're the perfect example of why people can barely say anything on this site without getting attacked. Everyone really needs to take it easy on here and just let everyone put out their opinion that they have gathered through their experiences. In the end this site is made for, or at least I thought it was (kinda changed the thought lately), people to help each other out not to get criticized on what's supposedly "right" and "wrong"

I've always loved that video, the song fits the rays more than any of the other inhabitants in the tank. And as for the divers cleaning they need to get in step with the music. Talk about "no rythm". LOL.....

This site IS for helping eachother. Unfortunately there is a growing trend of people on this site giving out bad advice and misinformation to people looking for help. If it weren't for people to point out bad advice and misinformation, someone looking for help could lose alot of money and alot of fish could die unnecessarily.

My goal is to help people. In this case I feel strongly that the fish that the original poster wanted to add have a very slim chance of survival in his/her tank. If saying so offends people I apologize. I find mistreating animals offensive.

I am saddened to see the naso in there. I wouldn't even consider one for my 250g.
