:irked:

I have this hippo tang for at least 6 months.. never done it before but this weeeked I realized he was nipping at my zoas, acans, micromussa.. :irked:

any idea on how to avoid that or my only option is to sell it ..

I was thinking to buy a clip and put some food there.. I feed my fish every other day... formula one, mysis...

thanks for your help

So feed less, but on a daily basis.
If he's taken a liking to the mysis you feed to the acans, maybe you should fill him up with it first if it is only that he is trying to take theirs. He may not be interested in the acans at all ;)

I hope so Kathy.. I really wanna keep the hippo... :)

You have nothing to lose by trying it for a short time..please do let us know if it seems to help.
Poor Hippo may only think that acans grow mysis :spin: ..and it's always a good idea to keep some seaweed in the tank daily for their needs for the vitamins they get from the greens!

I will bet you that as the Hippo gets bigger he gets more aggresive with your corals.
I had one that "never did it before" then one day I see heim tugging away at my Zoa, and I dont feed them Mysis.

hippo has 3 days to behave.. :shhh: otherwise .. he is out of my tank...
I think he is doing that cuz he is hungry.. everytime I feed the tank he goes crazy for the food... im gonna get the clip and wait.. if I c he keeps doing it.. I will have to sell it...

Javier, I think I have told u already. I had the same problem with my hippo nipping on my acans so did my friends. We both had to do a separate tank to hold the acans. After there were no acans, the hippo went after my xenia, what pisses me off is that he didnt actually eat the xenia but spits it out, and cause xenia to grow on different areas of my tank, I rather he just eat it. lol.

I dont think its underfeeding that caused the problem, I see him go after the xenia right after being fed.. All info online saids they are reef safe and peaceful. :scratchch Mine is semi aggressive.
