Having owned an angler in the past I can tell you this. They are eating machines, and will eat anything that will fit into their mouth.

They will sit on and irritate corals.

They do best in a species only tank.

Best diet for them is a few damsels a week and frequent water changes are a must.

They are extremely easy to catch. However, they cannot be brought out of the water so bagging needs to be done underwater.

be very careful with handling and bagging them, like Chief said. They are like a little bag of mush and they can't support their own mass out of water. As for catching them they run about as fast as a ruphied prom queen.

They can also "Gulp" air and not be able to expel it if they come out of the water and that in turn will kill it.

They are very easy to get, most vendors here can get them. Post a WTB thread so nobody gets into trouble for offering one to you in the wrong forum.

On a similar note I can't wait to find a small nano cheap to set up another Angler tank. They are great fish with great personality.

I have a sweet 14 gallon cube that I just took down gathering dust. The only problem is it comes with a sweet 20 inch (4) t5s that I would like to try to re-coup some $ on. If you are interested I will hook you up.

I have 3 of them right now, 2 in a species only tank. Really cool fish but can be a pita to feed. I had one in my sps system but it was too hard to feed him so I put him in my frag tank. You need easy access for the feeding prong if he's hiding.

Depends on the species. There is a Deli (yes a deli) in NJ that has an angler in a tank that would barely fit inside a 24 gallon aquapod because it is so big. They have had the fish for years. It looks like a huge rock. Pretty cool fish.

Where is this deli? hehehe Let me get a pastrami on Rye, aaannnddd let me get a slice of that angler.
