I really don't know about the clown but I am not surprised because I heard a lot of noisy fish since I was a kid.

Black drums' noises were the funniest, reminded me of Vogons from The Hitchhiker's Guide series lol.

My Foxface will "click" but it's usually related to feeding behaviors so I never considered it "talking". I've kept freshwater Loaches (Botias) for years and they are famous for being noisy fish. They "click" so loud you can litterally hear it across the room.
