None of my other fish are aggressive.

I considered a crab, but I got my evil hitchhiker crab out when I switched tanks and I don't think my tank is so big that there could be another one in there.

What about my big hermit crab? Could he do it?

I would get one of those pest traps for crabs etc. and see what you catch. I would also try and catch her and put her in the sump with no other fish/crabs. Give her plenty of time to heal, and time for you to observe what is going on in the main tank. Good luck.

Dean - no, I haven't moved any rock lately. :(

Wes - the same thing happened before and she recovered entirely. I will feed her food soaked in garlic (as I did before) and hopefully she will recover (she is still eating and swimming around).

caad3 - I can't move her to my sump because my sump is too small and packed. Plus, sometimes I think moving them stresses them out more. I have every hope and expectation that she'll be okay in a week or so. I'm most concerned about this not happening anymore.

I think something is attacking her or she's scraping herself on a rock or something.

When My fish get scrapes I use Stress coat. Dont know if it helps heal but it seems like it does. Dont know what to say about the repeated attacks. Maybe if she sleeps in the same spot over and over again. I would fill it in with sand and see if she moves somewhere else to sleep. Good luck keep us up to date.

you tried feeding with selcon also elle ? as other's stated that's wht mine did before it went to fish heaven. and unless you are able to watch it 24\7 it could be another fish. it only takes a second, my 8 line looked good in the morning, came home at lunch and has marks in it's side { stupid cherub angel } assuming that was it, cause he chased everyone

Nope, no stars and I'm quite sure I don't have a mantis (no cracking sounds, shells, etc). I think she's trying to wedge herself somewhere to sleep that is too small for her. She's still fine - alive and swimming and eating voraciously as ever. Her poor little sides are all scarred though.
