If you're serious about caring for clownfish, I recommend this website:

rareclownfish.com

Types of Clownfishes

Thanks for the links Deanos.

I like the True, False Perc and Maroon Clawn Fish. They seem much bigger than I expected cuz all the clown fish I've seen in my LFS are not bigger than 2", I guess they are babies. :)

I want the fish that is colorful, intensive coloring.. It doesn't has to be clawn fish.

Any suggestions?

Everyone likes clowns, and the false percs are great in a reef tank. You could also look at firefish or many of the different gobies.

I found some pics of firefish and gobies. nah... the clawns stands out in terms the shape, patterns and color.

I think I am going to go with clawn fish all the way

get 2 false clowns.

not 2 True clowns?
BTW, can I add 2 fish into my tank at the same time?

I worry about too much bioload for the tank since the nitrifying bacteria couldn't keep up with the sudden big increase in bioload..

I think you'd be safe adding just the 2, like someone said before, to get them from same place and add them together. I'd think if you added 2 clowns and your tank went crazy, there was a bigger problem than the 2 fish, but im new too.....

Are you saying I shouldnt see any ammonia or nitrite spikes after I added 2 clownfish if my tank is well cycled and stable, correct?

32 bit- stop worrying so much. if your tank is cycled get the two clowns. one other important note on clowns. i always get a tiny one and a larger one. the tiny one won't compete w/ the larger clown, this way you'll have a pair(pair as in male and female). one other thing the larger one would be the female. if you get two of the same size they may fight to become the female.

Scarf is right always try to get 2 different sized clowns if you are going to try and pair them. Also, clowns do not need anemones, especially the tank raised. They have never seen an anemone in their lives and some may never even attempt to host but a lot will. I wouldn't recommend an anemone in a tank smaller than 75g atleast depending greatly on your skill/knowledge and setup. Even then I would still shy away. Another option may be some of the smaller flasher or fairy wrasses. They have some of the most interesting and intense patterns of any fish you will ever see.

alright, thanks

I will do some research on the flashes and wrasses

BTW, do anyone know what type of food that crown fish will accept? I've seen some weird names of the food for crown fish and don't know if I can get it from my lFS.

Can I feed them frozen blood worms or some dry flakes?

Clownfish accept most dry flake or pellet foods and frozen mysis shrimp.

32bit- if you decide to get flasher wrasse i would really try and cover the whole top of the tank. they are known for jumping out of small crevices.

i personally wouldn't put wrasses in a 20g. clowns tend to stay in one spot most of the time but wrasses swim around all day.
