it isn't much of a battle more like a slaughter. i've had a goldrim tang for some time now and i got a beautiful spotted kole tang today. i tought since their shapes weren't that and the colors weren't either, i would have no problem. as soon as i put the kole in, the goldrim chased him around so bloody fast and started ripping it's fins.

i was able to catch the kole and place it in the fuge:happysad: should i take the goldrim out and place the kole in and then the goldrim after some time? i really want to keep both, will that ever be possible?

well i was able to net the goldrim tang and place him in the fuge while the two spot tang gets aquainted w/ the tank and it's inhabitants.

i decided to do the mirror trick and the goldrim has been flashing all day. i plan to place him back in the display sometime this week.

stay tuned...

jon's ever crazy reef.lol.my folks have a pbt that was the first tang in the tank.when i added a purple tang he went bananas chasing after the pt.but after a day it ended.then went in the yellow tang and so went the pbt chasing the yt but the next day it ended.lol so then went the hippo and yet again the fighting started.the pbt always seems to be the aggressive one everytime, but after the next day without fail he chills out.wish you luck.the kole is a nice looking tang

where did you get the purple?? i was gonna get one but not anymore

if i wouldn't have taken out the two spot that same night i'm 100% sure it would have been killed bu the goldrim. interestingly enough the goldrim and the pbt have the same exact shape. i figured since the two spot was differently shaped, he would be ok. boy was i wrong.

Good luck Scarf, nothing ever worked for my girlfriend. She always ended up calling me to come and get the new comer after trying a couple of different methods for a couple of weeks. If she didn't remove the new one her old one would always kill the new one. She tried all the old tricks, except for the mirror. Please do let us know if the mirror trick does work. I'd like to get a yt, but the smallest of my pt keeps killing them.

If you truly want to have both in your tank you can reaquascape the tank and then introduce both of them at the same time. There is a higher possibility that they can coexist this way.

Good luck regardless.

thanks but that's just not an option right now. too many corals and such.

i reintroduced the goldrim into my 120. right away he started chasing the two spot but it has now huddled under a cave and the goldrim doesn't bother it anymore. let's hope it works out.

well i left the house for a couple of hours and the two spot was riped up again. i think i have two options:

1- sell the goldrim and keep the two spot

2- get a third, larger tang so the goldrim knows who's boss and introduce the two spot and the other tang @ the same time. (highly unlikely as i don't want three tangs, not even two in a 120g)
