All right, here's an update of the situation along with some more questions:

I've been able to get about 1/2 of the fish out using a couple fish traps but the others are just not gunna come out with a fish trap. They are just too smart. My plan B is to tear the whole thing down. The other fish are just not gunna come out with a fish net and draining the tank will just cause the fish to hide under the rocks so I don't see that plan working.

My question is, I have a lot of mushrooms/zoos/lps/sps/clams/etc..... How long can they be left out of the tank before harm is done? I don't have a container to put them all into, so I'm thinking of just setting them down on towels for a few hours while the whole process takes place.

Anyone have any advise?

This whole thing sucks so much. Ranks up there with getting caught while zipping up.

The container store has big clear plastic storage bins that will hold water. They are at least 17 gallons and some bigger.

I think it is on 6th Ave.

Ok, I picked up some rubbermaid clear tubs from home depot here in the city. They had 24gallon tubs which worked perfectly. A piece of advise to anyone reading this: ALWAYS check for leaks before putting water in anything. My entire living room got pretty wet.... Luckily I bought a couple extra tubs.

Ok, now all of the fish are in the hospital/quarantine tank. Time to rearrange some rockwork.

Fish death count: 6

Nate, sorry about your losses. You are now finally on the track to beating this thing. The most important thing to practice now is patience. DO NOT try to rush the process. Running a tank fallow WILL TAKE 6 WEEKS. Good things come to those who wait.

GL and I'll be following for updates on your progress.

BTW, what method of treatment are you using?
Hyposalinity?
Copper?
Fallow?
Other meds?
Combination of treatments?

Thanks for the support. I need it. This has been a terrible experience so far.

I'm going to go with copper treatment and dosing the food with garlic as well. I know garlic hasn't proved anything at all with ich, but I sure think that I probably delayed the death of at least a few of the fish. I think my death count would be much higher if I hadn't started supplimenting garlic with food. Copper just seems like the old fashion tried and true solution. I'm a little intimidated by hyposalinity..... it just seems like it would be very stressful for the fish.

Hope to see a few of you at the frag swap coming up so I can thank you for all your help in person.
