Thanks eveyone, the glass top was giving me major heat problems, this really helps with the temp and keeps eveyone in the tank :)

Jon, from the bottom of my light fixture to the water surface about 2 inches.

I have to say - this was the easiest DIY project for the tank. I have a 120 AGA with dark brown framing. Bought brown aluminum screen framing, got the mesh from Jimflies from RC - 45 minutes and about $30 dollars later, a nearly invisible cover. Awesome - now I need me some more wrasses!

P.S. Carpet surfing sucks!
P.P.S. Looking for an anthia frantically behind your tank after hearing it flopping back there sucks even more! (the little guy survived, though!)

With help from KathyC, I brought mesh from AceHardware. It is black with 3/8 inch openings but it doesnt block any light. It is also UV treated so MH's won't melt/brittle it. 1/4 inch clear is VERY hard to find but 3/8 guarantees even my neon gobie won't get through. (he tried and failed miserably..hehe). At least 5 degree pulldown a few hours later.

I have a new design coming out soon..and Juiceguy is going to be the person to test it :)

Just stay on top of the saltcreep on the aluminum frames..it's gets out of control too quickly for me.
