Lambda,

it was definitly brook...cause it was covered with white slim... ? someone was talking about a qt..do you have a pic of one... i also read about formalin but i mean...i was busy and had no time to go and figure out where i could get it...

to answer some questions... its been 5 to 6 months since i have tried my last chance with a clown... at the same time though i have the same damsel for like 2 years in a half... the other fish died due to mechanical causes...and i went on vac and my friends didnt take care of my tank in the right way...

I was actually asking ricordeaking. Pretty much already knew your situation. :)

ricordiaking,

The thing with some fish keepers is that they do not QT the fish for atleast 30 + plus days. I have a QT method on rcf maybe you should check it out.

Yes I am familiar with this particular problem and the value of the QT. Sounds like a cool thread and I will check it out.

I was curious if you saw the previous post with my question. I assume when you say copper works on brook it is because you have used it personally. Are you sure you weren't treating ick? The only reason I ask is because with Brook there really isn't any room for error and if you treat copper and it doesn't work often there is not enough time to try something else. This is in my experience, of course.

E,i feel what your saying because i tried coppersafe reason being that my problem started out as ick and then soon after my clowns came down with the brook symptoms.all my fish came out fine with the exception of the coral beauty that caused this in the first place it died.my scooter and damsel made it ,one clown perished the other seemed clear but after a week after being placed back in the display tank the symptoms came back then he died.i did qt and left the tank empty for 30+days and the ick was gone this happen like four months ago and i still have the damsel and scooter blenny.

I have used this method of QT and it hasn't failed me yet (knock on wood), once your fish starts to show signs of brook you can almost be certain he/she will die. So to prevent any of that QT,QT,QT and then QT some more.
Formalin is another chemical used, but it does more bad than good IME with dealing with clownfish. just my 2 cents again.
