Reef Octo, Bubble Magus or SWC?

the pump is quiet construction is top notch easy to dial in and easy to clean
I have heard complaints that the BM is loud and hard to keep dialed in
I have owned and built my share of skimmers through the years
I'm sold on the SRO and love the pump!

if you scan through the octo thread on RC you will see what i am talking about,

my SRO came with a flexible coupling that eliminates vibration

it wasnt the connection of the pump to the body, it is the actually pump that was humming, not taking anything away from the pump, they put out great numbers. and have a 3 yr warranty which is almost un-heard of,but to take the few peoples opnions on here compared to hundreds on RC that have them is where i went off. i've also owned 1 or 2 skimmers

I have a swc 160 on my 38g overloaded. Great skimmer pulls lots of black juice every day !!!!!

Thanks everyone for the help. I'm gonna determine my water level in relation to the ceiling of my stand and see how tall each of the skimmers are going to be in there. I will let you know what I pick!

I haved had 2 bm skimmers will not look back and they are not loud at all mabey yours was installed wrong or vibrating on something I don't even hear mine run dan your welcome any time to come check it out

i have the the reef octo running on my 90 runs awesome plenty of scum in cup every couple days!!! great skimmer and no hum

SWC 160 Cone

I run a 72bow with 20ga sump/refugium, my SWC160 cone kicks ass, lots of small tiny bubbles, easy setup, maintenance is very easy. Not noisy and it gets lot of dark, stinky gunk.

I owned a Bubble Magus 160 before and it was very good too, but a little noisy.

To make it easy, bubble magus, swc or reef octopus are all great choices. They will all look like skin mate fondue in the top of the collection cup.

Vortex in series are also great skimmers just to add...

Id say nac 7. I currently own one, and obsessed with it's performance.

The 1000ss is really good also. But I'm all BM now that I own one...
