Does anyone have any experience with Hanna pocket phosphate checker because I just got mine today, I tested my tank water 3 times and the checker returned 0.00 phosphates (these are also the readings I get with the Salifert, API and Seachem test kits) so I tested my tap water twice and the tester return 1.73ppm for the 1st and 1.72ppm on the second so I'm fairly confident the tester is working.

What do you guys think?

It says low range phosphate, and i did get identical readings on the tap water tests. Maybe at this point I have no phosphates. There are no problems at all with tank that would indicate there should be but I know the saying, there is no way you have 0 phosphates.

Tester Update

OK, I retested my tank water twice this morning and the meter came back with 0.00 phosphates (makes me happy). Not being content I took a cube of frozen brine and defrosted it in 60 ml of tank water, strained out the brine and tested the water, what a result, the tester returned it's highest value of 2.50 ppm and was flashing which indicates the concentration of the phosphate level is higher than the meters test range.
I believe I've come to a conclusion, that the meter is working properly and my tank has no detectable phosphates:shhh:. Another lesson learned (proof positive) is you must rinse out all frozen food with RO/DI before feeding the tank (which I do anyway), I had no idea the phosphate concentration was so high from just one cube.

I got the 713 check as well. It constantly reads 0 but when I checked on the Milwaukee meter, it reads .06. There's a .04 margin of error on these testers anyway. Good enough for me.

I have one as well, so far I think it's great before i starting using bio pellets my initial reading was 0.11 after 1 weeks with the pellets 0.09, 2 weeks 0.04 and 3 weeks 0.00 so i think it is working.
