I use the Warner Marine EcoBAK pellets they are smaller and need much less flow than the other pellet brands, I also have a small 40 breeder so i only use 250ML so for me the 2LF phosban reactor with the sponges removed works really well, I did buy the BRS pellet reactor but so far have not seen a need to use it so it sits in storage in case the 2LF reactor fails.
I got mine from premium aquatics but i am sure many of the vendors on here can get them or carry them. I think they are all more or less the same just a carbon pellet but i do not have experience with other brands. I went with them simply because of the low flow, 100liter per hour for every liter of media.
the 250ml is up to what tank? did u add all the pellets in the reactor if not how long u waited to add the rest. i c that those pellets are cheaper which.is cool.
Although I've heard very good things about the Hanna meter, I've never used one myself. I'm starting to get more ... what's the word.. skeptical.. I guess (it's early :lol2 of testing certain things. For example, I know there's nitrate and/or phosphate in my tank (due to a slight abundance in algae currently, and a gradual build up on my sand bed), however none of my test kits read ANY nitrate or phosphate in the system... I'm pretty sure it's getting used up by the algae before it gets read.
Do you think that could be happening in your tank?
