IM GOIN WITH A CALCIUM REACTOR ON MY NEW BUILD WHICH IS A RED SEA REEFER 750XXL INSTEAD OF DOSING WHICH WOULD BE A GOOD REACTOR SHOULD I GET A SINGLE CHAMBER OR DUAL THIS WILL BE A SPS DOMINAT TANK ALSO DO SET IT UP WHILE IM CYCLING OR AFTER
A geo 612 or 618 should be more than enough for that tank. I have 2 setup now and both are single chambers. The second chamber is supposed to help raise the pH before it gets into the tank. This may also mean that alk/cal drop out also.
I think the size has more to do with how often you fill it then it does determining absolute performance of the reactor. Generally speaking, within reason.
get a good co2 solenoid, the carbon doser on brs is the best and a good ph meter and controller. A second chamber is advised but not needed. its meant to burn off the excess co2 and raise the ph on effluent water from the actual reactor before reaching the aquarium so the ph doesnt lower the systems ph
ive always had ph problems had a co2 scrubber on the 120 but not sure if a co2 scrubber will raise the ph being its a bigger system so will the secondary chamber would help wanna get it right now not later
If you already have low ph. You will need second chamber for sure. It does not hurt to have second chamber. It is actually better to have it. Your main chamber ph will be below 6.7, this low ph entering your system sure will drop your ph. I do all I can to get the ph as high as possible before it get pump into my display tank. I run geo 618 dual chamber. My display ph range is 8-8.2
i contacted geo they recommended the 618 along with the 415 do they come with the pump for the reactor or do i have to purchase it as well forgo to ask
