Upgrade starting sooner than expected

Don't use scrapers on that glass it scratches so easily.
The mag float cleaners work really well.

No it came like that Angelo. It'll be full this weekend hopefully. I ordered a super deep carbide hole saw that's 1 1/4" around and 8 inches deep for drilling my rocks to make the pillars. Hopefully they'll get it made and here in a few days. I thought they had them stocked but they custom build them to order.

Barrie. I only use mag floats and straight razors when cleaning tanks so I should be good to go. Thanks for the heads up.

Razors will scratch also. Even new ones. Never made a mark on my perfecto tanks but deep blue are really susceptible. I hear it is the low iron content of the glass.

Got the sump today. Aqueon Proflex Model 4. Just placed it in the stand to see the fit. It's big, I have to downsize my reactors so the external pump will fit with room to spare. Skimmer and pump will be here tomorrow hopefully and I'll be able to do all the planning at that point and then clean up the stand a bit to get rid of all the dust.

Thanks Pete, no the skimmer will be external if I have the height to do what I want to do. I will hopefully be able to build a platform to raise the skimmer up above the pump outlet and wind up sitting between the manifold and the side panel of the stand. HOPEFULLY! LOL

If not yes it will be in the return chamber, we'll see how it all works out.

LOL I like your 90 a lot man, the rockwork looks great, nice lights, a working skimmer- what else do you need? Don't ever think bad about your setup- they hear your thoughts and if you don't LOVE them they give you challenges by ways of floods and such to get even LMFAO!!! :smash:

Everyone works in the tank naked. The first thing I do when I wake up is go to the tank and I sleep in boxers! Everyone does it if they say they dont they are lying! Premium Aquatics carries a razor blade attachment that glues onto a mag float. It's the best thing ever. It cleans the glass in one pass and doesn't ever scratch the glass. Just make sure not to get sand caught between the magnet and glass.

Yeah I've always liked them since mag float came out with them. Will definitely be getting one. I remember a guy on YouTube limpets reef made his own before they came out or it was another brand before mag float did it and I loved it how easily it got rid of coralline.

Don't use that blade on a deep blue tank. I have scratches from razor blades on mine.
They are probably fine for other types of glass but DB tanks are different.
