I had aptaisia long ago, I kalked them to get rid of them. So no they don't release tiny pieces and spread from kalk. And yes I have been aptaisia free for the past 2 years.
I have kalk, but I cant use it because it will harm the monti. I picked up the aiptasia x by red sea. I am going to attempt it in a few minutes, so i'll know by tomorrow for sure if this stuff really works or not.
