think something is wrong with my brain

i have a beautiful green brain but im a little concerned.usually when i turn the light on in the morning its flattened on the rock.today it was not and i noticed a little bit of white on the side of him.i would show u a pic but u really cant see it in the pictures i took.what could it be.yes par are perfect calcium is over 500 though.its high up in my tank with t-5

looks like to much light, try moving it to the sand as they like moderate lighting not the very bright the T5s probably giving it.

If the calcium is over 500,might be that the PH is getting low.Test your PH.The light too like they said.

Most definitely move it down! They do not like those bright lights! Also check your temp!

temp is fine ph is good.ill try lowering it down

Definitely lower it to the sand bed. That is where I kept all of mine, and they did great until this summer when I lost many of my corals..;(

well after moving it i noticed the white wasnt just discoloration it was more like a boney material.like the flesh is coming off.im a little worried.ill keep u posted in a couple of days to let u know if its getting better

Yes, Duke that is the skeleton of the brain. It did loose a little flesh, and I pray that it does not continue.

Yes, the light is too much and yes you should spot feed it. Another thing is not to much flow either. That is how I lost all 3 of my brains(the flow from 4 #3 Koralias added to the tank after years of only the 2 return pumps).

How long have you had it? Does it look like the flesh is receding or does it look torn? What fish/inverts do you have? Could something be nibbling on it?

You should be worried. I had an open green brain that started to shed the same way. It only took about 2 days to be completely dead. I hope this isny the case with yours. But i think tem. too high was the case with mine.
also try not handling it too much

not handling it.it seems to be in 1 spot.temp is at 79 i have nothing in my tank that would nipple at it.i hope its the lights cause i relocated it down hopefully it will get better

thanks you guys after a couple of days my beautiful brain is looking better already.seems like its flesh is growing back around where it was coming off.this morning i noticed it flattened around the rock and i actually see its skin waving around from the powerhead.i tell u, u guys are great

After A Couple Of More Days I Might Have Spoken A Little To Fast On Brain Doing Better.it Looks Alot Worse Than It Ever Has Before.i Think I Am Losing It.im Trying Hard ,spot Feeding It At Night,moved It To Sandbed But Nothing I Even Changed Lighting Times.3:30 Actinics 5 Daylight 7 Actinics 9 Out But Looks Like That May Have Been Worse.anymore Advise To Try And Save It
