My 2 cents is -and I was thinking about this the other day-in the oceans I doubt we have the parameters we're shooting for in the aquarium ie: 0 across the board.
I think a little of anything as long as you dont let it get out of hand is okay .I had nitrates at 20 once replace some water back to normal. On another occasion I had ammonia a little high found out why -was over feeding-did a little water change no ill affects.I like feeding a lot and letting the corals eat out of the water columns.

Back to topic fellas Please...
So some spot every other day and some feed the tank and let the acans grab food from the water.. I will continue to spot feed the plankton and see how it goes.. I will also try some larger food like chopped clams and oysters and fish.. I will post up later to see if it works..
Thanks for all the info guys keep it coming... For the Acan newbie...

Okay, I just realized that an established reef tank can be a hard place for an acan to eat in piece...
I watched a bristle worm grab and eat a piece of plankton right out of the acans closed mouth... I think I'm going to have to chase them away every time I feed my acans.. THis can get kind of old real quick,,,lol...
