Hydnophora: SPS or LPS

Great picture of the hydno on the attack! I'm usually too intent on saving the victim than snapping photos when mine looks like that! Funny thing is that after separating my plate and hydno (who was obviously the one attacking), the plate looked no worse for wear and the hydno had taken the hit.

I love my hydnos. I definitely consider them to be LPS.

Gee Eric I'm going to have to rethink my suggestion that you drop a hammer (inadvertent fragging technique) on your Hydno..even though I adore the color of it! That is one nasty coral. I get enough of the stringy stuff from those blasted vermetid snails!
