Hammer is bleaching...HELP!!

Dear Reefers!

I got this coral early January, so I've had it for three months,

It was beautiful green when I got it, but it's bleaching...

My tank runs cool all winter, around 72, but no fluctuation of the temp.

I have another hammer, that I got around same time. The other

hammer is ok, if not fine... what to do? How to feed hammer coral?

I've tried b4 but some of my fish grabs it right out of my hammer...

Here is some more info.

Tank is 30" tall, I have VHO actinic 320w, 2x96watt 10,000k, 6,700k 400w MH, 2x10,000K 400w MH... I don't think it was too much light...

You have all of those running on there???

If so, that is WAY too much light.

Also, why are you running the tank at 72 degrees?

i believe his tank is over 6 ft long over 400 gals, 400 watts for over 2 ft deep tank maybe ok.
have u check your po4. i think i remember rich says high po4 may lead to bleaching

OK, I didn't realize the tank was so long, I thought he had all those lights bunched up in there. How is everything else in the tank doing?

Ummmm My PO4 is off the chart...

I feed 4 times or more, tryin to keep up w/ my Moorish Idol, LPS are doing well, I've been doing around 100gal water change every two weeks,
In my basement, I have 150gal refugium, sump holds at least 90gal, tank is 480, so I'm looking at least 600 gal of salt water to heat up, its very expensive to heat it up....hehe

Yes, combined with the low temps, high lights and low flow.

Dean, I've fixed my return, so I finally am turning my tank arount 8 to 9 times.

I'm thinking of growing cheatos, and Macro....

so I should feed less, do more water change, add more kalkwasser etc...

is it possible to bring back zoothellae cells back?

please feed me more advice on how to bring it back...if that is possible...

Absolutely! When it gets comfortable with its surroundings, it will reacquire zooxanthellae[SIZE=-1]. For now, I would give it less light.[/SIZE]
