No, they're a good things. They usually grow in your sump or overflow, the population will flux over time but nothing to worry about.

Can agree that those are pineapple sponges! If your tank is new (within 2 years old) it's probably a localized bloom, and they will eventually go away. I'm not sure how to actively culture them if that's something you're interested in doing however.

Silicate dosing will help them thrive. I started dosing silicate trying to induce a diatom bloom to help with an Amphidinium outbreak and I loved all the sponges going nuts so much I never stopped.
