Yeah that's fair. By the way with 12", you may even struggle with the 30, going through the back if it's open, or through the top might be the best case. Non-reef tank stands are not designed for each sump entry.

I know, it’s going to be tight and I hope to avoid breaking tank down in order to get proper sump into the stand.
