500 GPH external pump

Like the title says, I'm looking for an external pump around 500GPH. Even if you don't have one, I'm looking for suggestions as to what you would use and why, in case I have to buy from my LFS or online. The only pump I have experience with at this size is a Mag-drive. Thanks

Most people who use Eheim pumps have had them for years and years. They are very reliable, low maintenance and well made.

Ok, just wanted to hear that. I have an Eheim Pro II 2128 cannister filter on my planted tank, very good filter! However i've had no experience with the pumps. Do they run cool externally? Any freeze problems?
