Hey guys. looking to hire someone that truly knows how to troubleshoot this diy led nightmare.... I have 48 xpg 48 xte 12 true ultra violet (uv to act as uv during day and moonlight at night.) 3 dimmable drivers meanwell hlg185 (2) and eln48-60. all lights installed on heatsinks. Long story short had some help from some amazing people (you will know who u are), and after countless sleepless nights, i have gotten as far as i can. I have all blue and all uv working perfectly. My issue lies within the 3rd and 4th string of 12 xpg. I should mention that uv are wired in a string of 12, and both xpg and xte are run in 4 parallel circuits and like i said i cannot seem to get last two strings to light up. halfway withing the 3rd string if i +-+-+- i get nothing, but if i go +-+-++ i get the whole 3rd string to light. driving me absolutely mad. name your price and help me put these things to use before they end up out thru the window

thank you
-Steve pm me and il give u cell #. im in medford, long island

LED Issue

For what its worth. This past summer I built a 36 LED fixture. 3 strings of 12. Spent a lot of time planning and experimenting. Took about 16 hours to put the thing together and then another 40 hours troubleshooting. The one and only problem I had was that the LEDs were shorting out. Either my solder connection was bad or the solder connection was grounding out at the heatsink. Very frustrating. Being a programmer, experienced with tracking down software bugs, I've learned to defeat these issues by divide and conquer. So I would suggest you start with the minimum number of LEDS on a driver, 6 I think, get that to work and then add on 1 LED at a time until the whole string works. That's what I did and everything has worked fine since. My strings are in series not parrallel. Hope this helps. John
