Hello everyone,

After going through a lot of trouble with my preview set up including Nitrate problem, cheap protein skimmer, really high phosphate, ick, used Tap water etc..I decided to research ALOT more and also save some more money.I went and took my system down and Let the sick LR & LS dry up completely so i can start all over again from scratch. As i was reading and going through pages and googling stuff i learn about protein skimmers, supms/refugium and basically how to install a system and me only being 19 years old it was going to be a little harder than other people.

I only had about 30 pounds of live rock in my old 90 and about 30-40lbs of sand, wetdry filter, cheap protein skimmer that i got from petco(cant even remember the name) and just a mess with a bunch of cables everywhere

NOW my tank looks completely different with 130lbs of live rock and about 80-90 pounds of live sand.I Made a 3 chamber sump/refugium that holds about 30-35 gallons of water and got a great REEF OCTOPUS EXTREME XS 160 from Russ. Its been 2 months since my tank started cycling and ofcourse with RO/DI water this time, all my parameters are good So hopefully this will be a beautiful reef tank in a couple of months

I want to thank everybody that adviced me and gave me possitive and negative comments, My bestfriend Sammy for helping me with the rockscaping lol..we were sweating trying to figure out the best rockscape, Russ from saltwatercritters for all the advices and for recommending me that great skimmer in which i can worried about the space in the skimmer chamber but it fit perfectly fine and ofcourse Manhattan reefs, i learned sooo much here. THANK YOU

I like the rock scaping it's going to look good once it's grown in. I wouldn't have started with that many snails though. I always see better results and fewer empty shells when you add the CUC in stages as the tank matures and more livestock are added.

i bought all of those snails in a pack from reefcleaners.org....mind you that is a 55 gallon pack i bought...

herrera each chamber has bulkheads connecting it to the other [ skimmer and return chamber are connected with a 1in. bulkhead and the refugium and return chamber are connected with a 3/4 bulkhead since the refugium has less flow

Russ thanks im really trying to do this right this time...but i have alottt more to learn

First time around was probably not the best experience, but it was for the better. You made the right decision by researching and making sure you understand things better, else each incident was be a battle trying to figure out whats caused it. The aquascape looks great. Take it slow and let the tank settle in before you start trying to pack it.

Not at all..they all got along really well...
hmm have you tried getting one of them out and putting it in a quarantine tank (if you have one) and reintroducing it back into the tank a couple of days after..
if not try it and see if they calm down
