I was thinking of adding the emperor later but couldn't pass up on the price. I think he is starting to change.

Blonde Naso was eating out of my hand from day 1...he might be my favorite.

That Blonde Naso is really something else.
Good choice Dee.
What are you doing to supplement ALK+CAL used ?

Thanks! I really haven't used any supplements yet since I really don't have much coral. My levels are where it needs to be for now so I wasn't planning on adding anything yet. I've been doing weekly 30 gallon water changes with E.S.V. salt to help keep my levels where they should be. What supplements do you use? I could use the advice. Also I added a torch coral and goniopora today. Suggestions PLEASE.

Sounds good to me, and you couldn't pick a better salt to do something like that with.
As you start to stock the tank with more coral, just keep your eye on the ALK, and the CAL will go hand in hand with it too. As soon as you notice your levels going under 8.5DKH, it's time to look into some other alternative.

Just added an MP40 today....the wife gave me the ok lol. Fish were a little freaked out at first but they have adjusted.

I also added 30 pounds of rock. Thinking of changing my aquascape . Maybe two big towers, but I don't know where to start with that.

Added two sebae clowns.

Good to hear you're sill alive. Lol...
Hey Dee, since you don't have much coral in the tank, what's your light cycle like ?

Yeah I know. Pic is also 2 weeks old, so I have a little more coral and I will be adding some more SPS this weekend. I had a nice elegance Coral but my emperor angel turned that into a $150 meal lol. He doesn't bother anything else for now.

Atinics 1030am-1130pm
MH 1130am-830pm
Moon 1130-830am
(any suggestions)

Actinics 11-12hrs only . I preffer 12hrs light cycle. In the morning 1 1/2hr berfore Mh's and then off 1/2 after Mh's.
Mh's 8-10hrs.
As far as the moon lights, it seems that my corals feeder tentacles are more extened in complete darkness. So I only leave my moon lights on until 12am.

Nice tank! I think you should
Do 2 towers also. I like the look, maybe a larger on one side and a
Smaller on the other with a plateau for SPS !
Keep the pix coming. I just actually downgraded to a Elos Midi and did one
Tower in the center with a see through cave in the middle .

Wow 6 months later a comment. The tank is doing well and still running. Lost most SPS. Spent a few months trying to figure out the problem(faulty heater and LPS eating Emperor Angel). I really need to get a controller to keep a better eye on my temp. There will be many changes to come in the next few months, so I will post some pics then. Im planning on building a taller stand for more space under tank, so I wont add any more coral till then. Wanna say thanks to pauliwalnuts for all the help so far.

Tank has been running for almost a year and I'm having so much trouble keeping SPS. At first I thought I had a clue what I was doing, but actually I was lost. With the help of Pauliwalnuts and my local fish store I have a much better understanding. In the begining I only tested calcium, keeped up with keeping stable water chemistry with no regard to ALK. I couldnt even tell you what my Alk was in the first 8 months. Every SPS I added bleached from the base up. Then with some help and research I purchased a Hanna Alk checker. WhenI tested my ALK for the first time it was at about a 5. Therfore I raise it to about a 9-10, only to find 1 month later that there was a recall on the Hanna Alk reagents. Ive since purchased a salifert test kit. Sps are no longer bleaching from the base, they are now bleaching from the tips. Maybe I just need to be patient since my Alk has sust recently been stablized.

parameters as of today:

Temp 78-80
Calcium 440 (Red Sea)
Alk 7.2 (Salifert)
Mag 1440 (Salifert)
PH 8.2 (API)
Salinity 1.025

Example

Heres a couple frags I added a week ago. If they start to bleach ill post pics.
