Reefbrites that are sold now have the non-dimmable powersupply (supposively more efficient?) The old powersupplys had a knob that you could turn to dim it....

But they are coming out with a powersupply that will work with the apex controllers which will be pretty sweeet!

If I am not mistaken charcoal is just a form of carbon so no you do not have to remove it.....
