Just bought the same calcium reactor as you. Got a few questions lol. Do you use any ph probes with it or in it? I know theres no holders but did you modify it or anything? Also how did you tune it to start it up please let me know new to the whole calc reactor thing and still trying to get it set up =)

Update- lost all my coral!!!

Well its been a very hard 4months since I set up the tank. I had a tank crash that I could not figure out? I lost all my corals from my 75gal I tranfered into the 210gal and all coral I bought at the swap. I first thought it was the lighting so I down graded, then i thought it was my alk/calcuim was out of balance. Then I was doing water changes 2x a week. I was at the point were I would lose a coral after 24 hrs. Xenia would melt away, SPS would bleach, RBTA,mushrooms would melt. Zoas/polyps close all up,clams die away. Whats crazy is I have not lost a fish or shrimp and hermit crabs!!!
So I sent my water to a lab and it came back almost perfect? So I thought this was it, I will break the tank down and start all over or get out of the hobby:mad:

Well here is what gets me. My copper test came back good from the lab so I light ran in my head and I decided to put a polyfilter in the tank to see what was going on maybe some metal floating around that can't be traced or picked up. So after 24hrs the pad was blue (blue=copper). what drove me crazy was the lab showed no copper and I added a polyfilter pads 2months ago with Seachem Corbson and no color change.
So what I found out was that I bought a skimmer and chiller on ebay that was leaking out copper that was killing all the coral the whole time.Only equipment that was not from a reef set up.
" So never buy any equipment from someone you don't know or you must see there tank because everyone is a lier "

So after 2weeks and 10 polyfilter pad my zoas/polps are open again. Mushroom are back from the dead an other coral is alive again. Thanks to everyone who has tried to help and gave me free frags to help me stay with this hobby. Right now I am buying cheap and getting donated frags from MR members just to get this tank going. See updated pics and frags from the last 2 weeks.
I WILL BE BACK!!!!

lol but tom it is also alot of money to fill the tank buy small frags and let them grow out that way you can say see waht it started from

that is so very true.....this hobby has been the most addicting for me....not the most expensive but probably the most time consuming and labor intensive....lol

but when you have a big tank like jarrett's, you need some decent size things to look at.....i love growing things from a frag but i also bought a few colonies/mini colonies so i can see them from the couch and not with my nose against the glass.....lol

he was a pig in my frag tank and was in my DT for one day and eat yesterday but today no sign of him. I do have a deep sand bed so maybe he is playing like a little kid,LOL
