Regal, do your run GFO's like phosban or Rowaphos? Do you have a Hanna meter? IMO, based on the colors you are getting, your tank is extremely nutrient starved.
I've seen this in many tanks and have experienced. If you want to fix this problem.

1st Get a hanna meter and test. Your Po4 is probably .01
2nd Remove GFO if running
3rd shorten the MH photoperiod
4th increase bioload and feeding

I don't use phosban or alike at all. I only have some chaetos in my sump. My PO4 is low based on the salifert test, not even the lowest reading but it does have a slight bluish color to it. (I know it is not that accurate) So are you saying my tank needs more PO4? Nitrate is also very low, the lowest reading also. I am going to feed the fish more.
