When I broke down my 95-Wave, I decided to set up 2 nanos to see what I could do to improve my reef-husbandry. This thread is for the second nano I set up.

I started to fill it up with RO water the last week of January 2008, and these are what I decided to put in first:

? 20lbs of Marco Rocks
? 40lbs of sand

I also found some 18-year-old bacteria, similar to Biozyme, in the basement and decided to throw it in there... what the heck :Blurp:

...so the cycle began.

Feb 6. I decided to hang a filter to remove some of the floating debris in the water.

Feb 10. I decided to throw in some macroalgae

Feb 19. I went to Aquatic Express and had my water tested. Everything tested ok, but I wasn't ready to add anything so it just sat there while I decided on a light. I also found an old piccolo skimmrr and decided to use it to save money. It's there, it works... why not. It starts skimming the second day  go figure...

Fast forward to March...

Towards end of February, I start adding corals. I also added a Koralia 2, a Whisper 10 filter and a Phosban reactor.

March 7.

March 17. I started adding my first SPS frags from Paul. I also started dosing B-Ionic everyday. Also if you notice how the sand seems to pile up... that is the pistol shrimp's work. I got it from Phil and it dug up the whole tank! I had to keep moving the corals away from it's 'area'.

April

April 4. With the success of my 'test' SPS, I bought more frags from MOIDOL. and put them in. One acro died, maybe because I did not light acclimate it, but so far, the others are ok. I also bought an elegant coral from Wonderful World of Fish. I am crossing my fingers on that...
