Flame scallop eats tiny frozen shrimps and any debree of food flowing around. It just opens its mouth up wide and takes it down. So I will stick it out for a week or so and see how it does.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
I am going to read up more on him today. If any body has any additional information please feel free to let me know. <o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
I just found out that the hair algae is not great for the tank I just started because it will smother the rocks so I am cleaning them off because i received them from the 20 gallon package i just bought.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
Correction Wonderful World Of Fish is the name of the new store that opened up by me in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" /><st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Astoria</st1:place></st1:City>.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
The scallop is always trying to hide though so i do worry that he wont get enough food <o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
Thanx again for all the suggestions and help.<o:p></o:p>

Scallops eat plankton not meat. They are filter feeders. THey require lots of plankton matter in their diet many times a day. They prefer "Dirty Water"

What kind of light do you have? Those anemones look bleached. Also did you ever treatd your FW tank with copper? If you did those slabs have absorbed the copper and leach it back into your system.

Your LFS sold you all the fish(two sail fin, two Yellow tang, a large angle and mutiple clowns) knowing you just set this tank up?

That's what I was thinking...

Thatguy96, not to be mean but just honest, you're off to a bad start. Sorry to be a killjoy, but I recommend you do some basic reading on saltwater tanks and on the animals you have in your system.

Best of luck and let us know how it goes.

Hate to quote this again but Pierce is right for asking. If they sold you all of this knowing you current situation, then this really might not be the place for a new reefer.

Try to talk to them and see what they can do to help you better things.

Triple quote for emphasis

Ya I definitely agree,a sail fin tang isn't for a newbie, that angel definitely isn't for a newbie, two yellows together aren't for anyone and neither are all those clowns, general rule for clowns,a pair is the max,you will get into aggression troubles eventually if you don't follow that rule. And tangs of simialer colors and shapes will fight, don't be surprised if the sail fin and yellows start a bloodbath.
